Etiology – the cause set of causes, or manner of causation of a disease or condition.
Etymology – the study of the origin of words and the way in which their meanings have changed throughout history.
Epidemiology – the branch of medicine which deals with the incidence, distribution, and possible control of diseases and other factors relating to health.
Assessment – the action of assessing someone or something.
Diagnosis – the identification of the nature of an illness or other problem by examination of the symptoms.
Intervention – the act or fact or a method of interfering with the outcome or course especially of a condition or process (as to prevent harm or improve functioning)
Prognosis – an opinion, based on medical experience, of the likely course of a medical condition, a forecast of the likely outcome of a situation.
Asphyxia – a condition arising when the body is deprived of oxygen, causing unconsciousness or death; suffocation.
