This document will help you in understanding the topic Ethics in the Field of Experimental Psychology
Confidentiality- A safeguarding of the privacy and anonymity of the subjects with an assurance that their attitudes, opinions, and/or performance on certain tasks will not be made public. Debriefing -Providing the subjects all information regarding all aspects and procedures of the research study including the deception used, after they have participated in the study.
Deception- A temporary withholding of information about the hypothesis of the research and other details from the subjects participating in it so as to protect the purpose of the research.
Ethics –A set of moral principles that govern conduct. A branch of philosophy concerned with moral ideology and principles, which recommends concepts of right and wrong conduct, and often addresses disputes of moral diversity.
Standard Procedure –Procedures that have been tried many times before by many investigators or procedures viewed as acceptable for the welfare of the subjects by others undertaking the research.
